Pokémon GO Fest 2022 is already well underway, with the first global event having taken place earlier in June. It’s not over, though, with more in-person events coming up in Germany, Japan and the US, and an August finale event for Trainers across the globe. With so much still to come in the Season of GO and Pokémon GO Fest 2022, we’ve got the latest Pokémon GO news that was revealed on June 22, 2022.

More Ultra Beasts have made their way to Pokémon GO

Three more Ultra Beasts have been discovered on the wrong side of mysterious Ultra Wormholes!

Recently, Ultra Beast Nihilego was discovered when Rhi of the GO Ultra Recon Squad followed it through an Ultra Wormhole to our world. Now, Pheramosa, Buzzwole and Xurkitree have followed suit.

Trainers who are attending the three, upcoming, in-person Pokémon GO Fest events will be invited to participate in more Ultra Beast Special Research. It seems these new Ultra Wormholes have opened up in specific locations, though, so you’ll encounter a different Pokémon depending on which event you attend:

  • Berlin, Germany — Pheromosa
  • Seattle, US — Buzzwole
  • Sapporo, Japan — Xurkitree

Beast Balls are coming to Pokémon GO

As we actually predicated back in May, Ultra Beasts are bringing a new type of Pokéball to the mobile game in the form of Beast Balls. According to lore, these super sturdy balls are able to hold among the strongest of Pokémon, which is why they were used to capture Ultra Beasts in other areas of the Pokémon franchise. And that’s what they will be used for in Pokémon GO, too, when these three Ultra Beasts are encountered during Pokémon GO Fest Special Research.

If you’re not attending the events in Berlin, Seattle or Sapporo, though, you will have a chance to catch all three new Ultra Beasts at a later date! And if you haven’t got your tickets, yet, you can find out more at pokemongolive.com.

We’ll have more information on the mysterious appearances of these Ultra Beasts as they make their way to other parts of the world, so keep your eyes peeled on our Pokémon hub for more!
