As part of the first stage of the Season of Alola in Pokémon GO, Trainers will be researching Melemele Island, one of the four tropical islands that make up the Alola region. Completing the “A Melemele Adventure” tasks will result in encounters with Pokémon never seen before in Pokémon GO.

A Melemele Adventure — Part 1 of 4

A Melemele Adventure tasks new Pokémon GO Yungoos
  • Catch 10 Pokémon — Alolan Rattata encounter
  • Send three Gifts with a Sticker — 10 Poké Balls
  • Catch five Normal-type Pokémon — Yungoos encounter

Rewards: 10 Pinap Berries, 500 Stardust, 500 XP

A Melemele Adventure — Part 2 of 4

  • Take a snapshot of any wild Pokémon — Five Razzberries
  • Use seven Berries to help catch Pokémon — 10 Great Balls
  • Catch 10 Pokémon — Pikipek encounter

Rewards: One Charged TM, 500 Stardust, 500 XP

  • Catch six Normal-type Pokémon — Yungoos encounter
  • Catch three different species of Normal-type Pokémon — Yungoos encounter
  • Spin five Pokéstops or Gyms — Alolan Raticate encounter

Rewards: One Premium Battle Pass, 1,000 Stardust, 1,000 XP

A Melemele Adventure — Part 4 of 4

  • Send five Gifts to friends — 10 Great Balls
  • Catch 15 Pokémon — Seven Pinap Berries
  • Win a Raid — Alolan Meowth encounter

Rewards: 15 Ultra Balls, 3,000 Stardust, 8,000 XP

As you can see, by completing some of the tasks in the A Melemele Adventure research storyline, Trainers will be rewarded with encounters with Pokémon brand new to Pokémon GO!
