Every month’s free PS Plus games are a wonderful benefit of the subscription service from Sony. It means that not only do you get online gaming access, extra discounts at the PS Store, and the security of saves being backed up on the cloud, but you also get free games every month. That’s right, for no extra cost!

Typically these games cover both the PS5 and PS4 generations with both audiences still catered for – however, this may well change as the PS5 continues to establish itself as the main console from Sony. Equally, the lineup of PS Plus games may well change a bit more with PSVR2’s release and more VR games joining the list every month.

Anyway, we’re here to concisely tell you what the free PS Plus games currently are, and let’s get on with it.

Free PS Plus games – April 2023

Getting to it, the free ps plus games that are coming this week

  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure
  • Tails of Iron
  • Meet your Maker (day one)

The previous month’s PS Plus games that are on their way out, or gone already (depending on when you’re reading this), are:

  • Battlefield 2042 (PS5/PS4)
  • Code Vein (PS4)
  • Minecraft Dungeons (PS4)

When do PS Plus games change?

Broadly speaking, the announcement is usually made on the last Wednesday of every month, and the changes then kick in on the first Tuesday of the month. I say usually because it might change every now and then.

What makes that ‘every now and then’ part a bit more interesting is April’s inclusion of Meet your Maker on release day – could we see more release day launches on PS Plus? And would that then mean slight changes to the timing of PS Plus? Probably!

How do I get the free PS Plus games?

It’s really simple to get the free PS Plus games every month – you just need an active PS Plus subscription (of any level). And if you don’t have a subscription currently, then the best, simplest way of getting the free games is to pay for any level or length of subscription and you’ll be straight in!
