Can you QSS Malzahar’s Ultimate?

The answer is yes. If you use QSS while Malzahar uses his Ultimate Ability on you, you’ll stop the CC. QSS is the Quicksilver Sash, an item that removes CC in League of Legends. It’s worth noting that it doesn’t remove any damage that Malzahar’s Ult does.

Malzahar’s Ultimate Ability (his R) is Nether Grasp. When activated it tethers to the enemy champion. After that, it knocks down your champion and suppresses them for up to 2.5 seconds. The magic damage is dealt every 0.25 seconds.

If you use QSS to remove the CC, the tether is still there and Malzahar still does damage to your character. However, he can’t move while casting his ultimate, or he’ll stop the channel and the damage so you can take advantage of that.

Even though you can QSS to halt Malzahar’s Ult, the same can’t be said for the Cleanse summoner spell. You can’t cleanse Malzahar Ult. The only way to remove it is by using QSS or an ability like Gangplank’s W, Remove Scurvy.

QSS, unlike Cleanse, can remove all crowd control debuffs (except Airborne). It has a 90-second cooldown. Malzahar’s Ultimate Ability has an 80-second cooldown at level 16 without any Ability Haste. That means he’ll most likely have another Ult before you get your QSS off cooldown.
