Update: The Buddy Pass is due to go live on January 27 with Ubisoft stating that the delay to the pass’ launch is due to come to an end. Per the tweet, you can expect it to go live at 7 AM PT on the 27, which means it goes live at 10 AM ET, 3 PM GMT, and 4 PM ET.

Ubisoft has announced a delay to the Rainbow Six Extraction Buddy Pass feature. Those who are looking forward to playing Rainbow Six Extraction with their friends for free will find they will need to wait a short while instead.

The news of the Rainbow Six Extraction Buddy Pass system getting delayed emerged on social media on January 18. The tweet from Ubisoft states that it wants a smooth rollout for all players, so, Ubi expect that the launch servers will be rather busy. Ubi wants to prevent the buddy system from becoming online straight away, likely to prevent any unintended server downtime. That way, the game’s population doesn’t potentially triple through the free-to-play initiative the game haws employed.

One of the most attractive things about buying Rainbow Six Extraction was that the game with a Buddy Pass, which sends invites to two of your friends that can download and play the game with you for free for 14 days, as long as you play with the friend who sent you the pass.
