Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is about to enter its seventh year. And to kick off the new year of content, we are heading back to Japanese themed content with the new Operator. There are also plenty of reworks, balance changes and other tidbits, so here is a summary of the Rainbow Six Siege Demon Veil patch notes.

Rainbow Six Siege Demon Veil Patch Notes

To summarize the main points in the new Rainbow Six Siege Demon Veil patch note, we have:

  • New R6 operator
  • Goyo Rework
  • Attack Repick
  • Balancing

We will create sections so you can see each of the elements within the new Rainbow Six Siege patch notes.

New R6 Operator

The new R6 Operator is Azami, a Japanese Operator with a unique turtle playstyle. Her gadget allows her to throw a deployable that patches up surfaces attacked or defenders’ misplaced explosives. This is a great pick for anchors looking to reinforce the defence or even accompany roamers who need to ensure they have a safe escape route through blown up surfaces.

As for her weapons and other equipment, she can use either the 9X19SVN or the ACS12 auto shotgun. As for her secondary, she has the D-50, a high-calibre sidearm. She can also take either the impact grenades or barbed wire., helping to establish her as a hard anchor or creative roamer.

Attacker repick

Attacker Repick is a brand new feature launching in the R6 Demon Veil patch notes. The feature allows attackers to deploy different operators, even in the preparation phase. It gives the attackers more opportunity to adapt to the situation at hand, making the attackers a more tactical side, capable of adapting against the defence side.

This is a firearm come true for those who use their drones to scout the enemy positions and go from there accurately. Players who like keeping their drones outside of the building may want to think twice about the pros and cons of doing so.

Demon Veil Balancing

Like with all new Rainbow Six Siege seasons, there is going to be huge changes to balance this quarter of the new season. The biggest one by far is the Goyo rework. The incendiary shield that he can deploy, which then later detonates, leaves patches of fire on the surfaces around.

Rather than being exclusively an incendiary shield, Goyo can now place these thermal packs on surfaces of his choosing. This means it can go on floors,  walls and lay trap differently. It turns Goyo from a hard denial Operator into a pick that can make some interesting plays and strategies.

Moreso, a major functionality change affects defence themed intel operators. Maestro’s Evil Eyes, Bulletproof cameras, and Valk’s Black Eyes will lose signal if they are placed outside. It’s a major nerf to the usual Valk outdoor camera spots, forcing the character to be played with indoor rather than outdoor strategies in mind. On the other hand, MOzzie and Echo can now send their drones outside for ten seconds to match the new outdoor camera change for the defenders.

Rainbow Six Siege Demon Veil Release Date

The Rainbow Six Siege Demon Veil release date is set for March 15. The new season will thus begin at 07:00, 09:00 ET, 13:00 GMT, and 14:00 CET. The servers will not be available for that time as the game servers update to the Demon Veil patch. Keep in mind there will be R6 server maintenance one hour before the launch of the new siege season.

This is the major gist of the new Rainbow Six Siege Demon Veils patch notes. Good luck out there, and enjoy the new season grind. The full patch notes blog post is available on the Ubisoft website if you’re interested.
