Best weapons in the Resident Evil 4 Remake

With so many weapons in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, it can prove difficult to determine which weapons are the best to take with you on your journey. Of course, your final weapon choices are your own, but these are some of the weapons we found to be the best.

Best handguns

  • Punisher
    • While good in the original, the Punisher really shines in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. This is thanks to its great bullet penetration, strong power, and decent rate of fire. The unique upgrade for the Punisher allows it to shoot through up to five enemies in a row, making it perfect for crowds of foes.
  • Red9
    • The Red9 is the most powerful handgun in the game that isn’t a magnum. Despite having a slower rate of fire and reload speed, as long as you consistently hit targets, the Red9 won’t let you down.
  • Blacktail
    • The Blacktail is a very well-rounded handgun that is perfect to carry you to the end of the game. While it isn’t the most powerful handgun, it makes up for it by having a decent rate of fire and a smaller size.

Best magnums

  • Handcannon
    • By far, the best magnum in the game is the Handcannon. While difficult to obtain, the Handcannon makes up for it by boasting the highest damage output of any magnum and its unique upgrade allows it to have infinite ammo.
  • Broken Butterfly
    • The Broken Butterfly is a much easier-to-obtain weapon that has a very high power rating that lets it rival the Handcannon.

Best Shotguns

  • Striker
    • The Striker is a powerful shotgun with a very high rate of fire once it is fully upgraded. With a large spread, the Striker is the perfect shotgun to keep crowds at bay.
  • Riot Gun
    • Similar to the Striker, the Riot Gun is great for handling crowds of enemies. The upside to the Riot Gun is that it holds more power than the Striker but cannot hold as much ammo.

Best Rifles

  • Stingray
    • The Stingray is a great weapon that can be obtained earlier in the game and can help you reach the end. While it has a slower rate of fire, compared to other rifles, the Stingray is the most well-rounded.
  • CQBR
    • The CQBR is more powerful than the Stingray but has the problem of a fast rate of fire. While it can easily take down many foes, it is difficult to be accurate with the rifle. Despite this, it is still a great weapon to obtain.

Best SMGS

  • Chicago Sweeper
    • The Chicago Sweeper is a great weapon that is well-rounded but difficult to get your hands on. Fully upgrading the Sweeper will allow you to get infinite ammo, making it better than the others.
  • LE5
    • The LE5 is better than the TMP during a standard playthrough of the game and is far more powerful.
