How to become a Sims 4 PlantSim

Sims can become PlantSims by eating a Forbidden Fruit, a special item which is obtained by entering the Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree. The challenge requires Sims to collect seven magical beans:

• Flirty
• Confident
• Sad
• Uncomfortable
• Tense
• Playful
• Angry

You can find these magical beans from random PlantSims that appeared occasionally in each neighborhood. They then need to call Jasmine Holiday, a challenge coordinator, in order to get a magical stump, and place the six magical beans on it. The Sims can then water the stump for it to grow into the “Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree”. By entering the tree, Sims will obtain the Forbidden Fruit by answering correctly during a short text-based adventure. Once they obtain the fruit, Sims can eat it and become PlantSims or plant it and grow more Forbidden Fruits (which can be eaten.) Once eaten, they will be a PlantSim for 5 days.

The beans can now be found in rare seed packets, available when reaching level 10 of the gardening skill, and the stump can be purchased from build mode.

Motives

PlantSims have two different needs from normal Sims: water (which replaces the bladder need) and a special hunger need, which can be filled via exposure to sunlight. They also have special moodlets for being out in the sun or in water which boost their happiness.

Abilities

PlantSims can talk to plants to replenish their social need, and can absorb solar energy from plants to replenish their special hunger motive.

Plant matter

In The Sims 4: Cool Kitchen Stuff, the ice cream maker can be used to create the ice cream “Plant Matter” (requires level 8 cooking and §47), which will temporarily give a Sim the appearance of a PlantSim, as well as a moodlet that urges them to spend time outside. This does not appear to affect the Sim’s hair or clothes. This is only a temporary, cosmetic effect, and the affected Sim will not have any special needs.

Sims 4 PlantSims Cheat

You can also turn your Sims into a PlantSim through cheats if you don’t want to go through the hoops of finding and searching for the magical beans. There are two ways of doing this:

Method 1

The first thing you’ll need to do if you want to get your sim to become a plantsim is get them to level 10 of the gardening skill. This is because you need to purchase the Rare seed packets which are only available if you have level 10.

You can do this through actually gardening or just cheat your way to the gardening skill by opening up the cheat box with ctrl + alt + C and typing in testingcheats true to make sure that your cheats are working, then type stats.set_skill_level major_gardening X and replace the X with the number 10.

You can then buy the rare seed packets either from ordering seed packets on the computer or you can find them in build mode. You may need to spend a lot of money to do this, because a rare seed packet costs § 1,000 and you may only get one magic bean each time.

You also need to purchase the Magic PlantSim Stump and when you have collected all 6 magic beans you put them into this stump. When you water the magic stump you’ll see a tree grow and you can enter the tree and retrieve the Fruit of the Plantsim. Eating this fruit will turn your sim into a plantsim automatically.

Method 2

For this method, you must enable cheats by opening the cheat bar with ctrl + alt + c and using the testingcheats true cheat to turn on cheat codes. Then you can hit shift and then click on your sim and you’ll have the option to Make Into PlantSim and your sim will instantly be turned into a plantsim.

You can also use the buy debug cheat which is bb.showhiddenobjects to purchase yourself a Forbidden Fruit of the PlantSim and when you eat this fruit your sim will become a plantsim.
