One of Sniper Elites’ more interesting Kill challenges is the Rat Bomb challenge. You’re tasked with taking out the killing objective with the use of rat bombs, a special item pickup only available on the fourth mission. Here we teach you how to beat the Sniper Elite 5 Rat Bomb challenge.

When you start the mission, you get a Rat Bomb on the dresser in the tutorial room. Pick that up, as there’s no guarantee you get the second one. From then on, do the mission as normal. Eventually, you will make your way to the kill objective area.
The important thing to note here is that you need to be ultra-quiet in the area. Making noise and alerting those nearby or the two NPCs in the kill objective building will make killing them using the rat bomb nigh impossible.
Also, if you want the second one, or forgot to pick up the first rat bomb, you can get another from the armory. You need to take the armory keys from the officer in the construction field, next to where the armoured car drivers to and from the garage. You can then head inside the building, take out the guard on the balcony, and enter the armory. Opening the storage chest with the crowbar reveals a new rat bomb if you need it. There’s also a workbench if you need the unlock.
Now that you have your bomb, you should cross the road and enter the building quietly. Upon entering, you will kick off the dialogue between both NPCs. This gives you time to find the white outlines of the rat bombs you can place under the shelves. Place your rat bomb(s) and then find a place outside to hide.
