Splatoon 3 Release Date
Shockingly, Splatoon 3 is practically here. The game will release on 9 September 2022, so barely 2 days away. This is also an in-house game developed and published by Nintendo, so it’s not going to be available on any system other than the Nintendo Switch.
You’re able to pre-order the game right now, and there are a few different editions of the game available for purchase. If you want the scoop on the different editions of Splatoon 3 and where you can get them then you can check out our pre order guide.
Splatoon 3 Release Time
Just like other games made and released by Nintendo, you’ll be able to play Splatoon 3 at midnight in the local time of your timezone. So no matter where you live you can play Splatoon 3 at Midnight on 9 September 2022.
Splatoon 3 Special Edition OLED
Nintendo recently announced that they’re releasing quite the special edition for Splatoon 3 in the form of the Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch OLED.
While it releases before Splatoon 3 itself (August 26) and won’t come with the game, it will come with customized designs for the console itself.
It’ll come with a set of joy-cons, one blue and one yellow with white underbellies.
The console dock is adorned with Splatoon character designs and a massive yellow splat in the bottom left corner, creating a new look for the Nintendo Switch OLED and a special edition for fans to show off to other fans.
Will Off The Hook Be In Splatoon 3?
Off The Hook will be in Splatoon 3! Off The Hook is an in-universe pop music act that first appeared in Splatoon 2. The songs that they perform are used as in-game music, with tracks such as Chip Damage serving as examples of this.
The members of the band include Pearl and Marina, and Nintendo UK tweeted out a preview of a new track from the game.
So far we know of two different tracks from the game that they will perform, but there are more than likely going to be more tracks in the final game itself.

Splatoon 3 Amiibo’s
So we don’t currently know if Splatoon 3 is getting a set of Amiibo, but it’s pretty likely considering the track record that the series has with them.
We’re still waiting on several Super Smash Bros Ultimate Amiibo to release, such as Sephiroth, but it’s not hard to imagine that Splatoon 3 Amiibo are high on Nintendo’s list of creations.
Splatoon 2 saw the release of several Amiibo such as Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, Inkling Squid, Off The Hook, Octoling Girl, Octoling Boy, and Octoling Octobus.
Some of these were released alongside Splatoon 2, but it’s possible that the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the creation of such figures for release alongside Splatoon 3.
