Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is finally here, and we’re here to talk to you all about the Star Wars Jedi Surivor difficulty settings in game. There are five different difficulties to discover, from the nice and easy to the desperately difficult. You’ll really have to be a Jedi Grandmaster to crank up the setting to the top level. The levels of difficulty offer up a variety of challenges to consider and overcome.

If you’re looking to play on PC, you’ll first have to get past the difficulty of lackluster PC performance with our potential fixes. Once that’s done, you can get to enjoying the game at a difficulty level of your choice. Let’s talk about them in more detail.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor difficulty settings

It’s nice to see that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gives players a wide range of difficulty settings. Another great thing is that you’ll know exactly what the different difficulties affect in terms of the gameplay. First off, let’s list the five difficulty settings available in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – ordered from easiest to hardest.

  • Story Mode – focus on the story not combat
  • Jedi Padawan – some combat challenge but still easy
  • Jedi Knight – you’ll need to be strong at combat and manage key health and stamina systems
  • Jedi Master – enemies are harder and will require more strategy to beat
  • Jedi Grandmaster – damage increases massively and will test parry, movement and other in-game elements

From the screenshot below, you’ll notice that we’re hovering over the ‘Jedi Knight’ difficulty, which offers the most balanced gameplay and is, in our opinion, the best difficulty setting to use in Jedi Survivor. Here you’ll see how the difficulty is affected in terms of Parry Timing, Incoming Damage, and Enemy Aggression. These three key aspects of gameplay are integral to the balancing system in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. For the record – the higher the Parry Timing window, the easier it is, so as you progress up the difficulty tiers, the time to react becomes less. If you’re struggling, you may want to check out the game’s slow mode – which can really help.

Story Mode difficulty

The Story Mode in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor represents the most casual playthrough of the game. Here, the timing to parry is much more lax, and the threat of enemies and damaging is minimal. You can see why it’s called Story Mode, as this difficulty level is designed to allow you to enjoy the narrative of the game without worrying too much about challenging enemies.

  • Parry Timing: Max
  • Incoming Damage: Low
  • Enemy Aggression: Low

Jedi Padawan difficulty

Moving on up now to the Jedi Padawan level. You’ve been upgraded to a Jedi, but just a novice. From here on out, you’ll see the gradual switch from how relaxed your gameplay can be. The Parry Timing has been taken down a notch, while the Incoming Damage and Enemy Aggression has been moved up to provide you more of a challenge.

  • Parry Timing: High
  • Incoming Damage: Moderate
  • Enemy Aggression: Moderate

Jedi Knight difficulty

Now for the ‘normal’ difficulty of the game. You’re a Jedi Knight. Not quite a master, but you’ve been promoted from a lowly Padawan. Here, all the settings are balanced to the middle. The Incoming Damage and Enemy Aggression is still a little higher than the Padawan setting, but the jump isn’t as drastic as it was from the Story Mode. As mentioned prior, this is the best difficulty setting in the game for those who want a balanced experienced between narrative and combat.

  • Parry Timing: Balanced
  • Incoming Damage: Balanced
  • Enemy Aggression: Balanced

Jedi Master difficulty

We’re getting into the real challenging levels now. Can you claim the title of Jedi Master? Well, you’ll need to master certain aspects of the game. While the Parry Timing is still just a little bit forgiving, the enemies will still give a hard time due to their higher aggression. Plus, any hits you don’t manage to parry will be dealing some noticeable damage.

  • Parry Timing: Moderate
  • Incoming Damage: High
  • Enemy Aggression: High

Jedi Grandmaster difficulty

We’ve arrived at the maximum difficulty level. The Jedi Grandmaster level doesn’t offer you anything for free. The Parry Timing is at it’s most precise, and the enemies simply won’t let up – all the while dealing the maximum amount of damage the game’s balance allows. This settings is designed for players that want an ‘intense and demanding combat experience’.

  • Parry Timing: Low
  • Incoming Damage: Max
  • Enemy Aggression: Max
