Cutting to it, the Star Wars Jedi Survivor release date is only a matter of weeks, nay days, away! The game releases on April 28th, 2023. This marks about three and a half years since Fallen Order’s release date, so we are – just by a matter of time – primed and ready for another adventure in a galaxy far, far away.

We know for sure now – from the most recent Star Wars Jedi Survivor story trailer – that Cal’s next adventure will be darker, more desperate, and intense as he struggles to stay ahead of the Empire and its desire to rid the galaxy of the Jedi Order and its survivors. Coming up against new enemies and antagonists who want the Jedu extinct, Cal will be tested to his limits.
Making that setting and story look spectacular is the addition of new environments along with familiar lands. The official Star Wars website confirms we will be able to “discover new planets and familiar frontiers”, and that each area will have a different and particular environment, but also their own enemies and challenges.

Survivor sees the return of Cal Kestis as the main protagonist for the game – but he’s older and more grizzled than before. As mentioned above, the game sees him take on more darkness too with The Dark Times closing in, and his desperation to protect his crew and others intensifies. Said crewmates definitely include fan-favourite characters like Greez and Merrin, whose appearances in the latest trailer were enthusiastically welcomed by fans.

The most recent trailer we had for the game was the official story trailer which dropped in March 2023. It details and sets the scene for the game, taking place five years after Jedi Fallen Order. At the core of the trailer is Cal’s search for somewhere safe to take refuge from the empire.

Star Wars jedi Survivor will be on current-0gen machines only – it’s going to be a ‘true new-gen’ game harnessing the power and capability of the latest hardware available to us. To confirm, that means the game will be on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
Is Jedi Survivor coming out on Switch?
Unfortunately, no. And this isn’t too surprising (sorry, Switch players) – the game is made for new-gen machines only so it’s a fair assumption that the game just couldn’t be made to run on the Switch’s relatively-limited power.
