Farming is one of the core elements in the role-playing simulation game Stardew Valley. As players progress through the game, taking care of crops gets increasingly tough. Installing a sprinkler means that your character has to go back and forth less, refilling their water can. Here’s how to get Sprinklers and use them in Stardew Valley.

How to Get Sprinklers in Stardew Valley

There are three different kinds of Sprinklers you can get in Stardew Valley: Basic Sprinkler, Quality Sprinkler, and Iridium Sprinkler.

The Basic Sprinkler crafting recipe is unlocked early on in the game, as soon as the player reaches Farming level 2. Here’s what you need to craft a Basic sprinkler:

  1. One copper bar: You can get a copper bar by smelting copper in a furnace.
  2. One iron bar: If you are at Mining level four, you can upgrade three copper bars into one iron bar.

Smelt these ingredients in a furnace along with a lump of coal to obtain a Basic Sprinkler. Alternatively, you can also purchase it from the Traveling Cart on Fridays and Saturdays near the Cindersap Forest, but it won’t be available all the time.

The Basic Sprinkler only covers four tiles, so you will need to craft many of these to cover a field of crops.

How to Get Quality Sprinklers in Stardew Valley

You can also craft a Quality Sprinkler in the game. These sprinklers cover eight tiles and require a Farming Level of 6.

You’ll need:

  • 1 Iron bar
  • 1 Gold bar
  • 1 Refined quartz – made from one coal and one quartz gem

It is also available for purchase in the Traveling Cart.

How to get Iridium Sprinklers in Stardew Valley

Iridium Sprinklers are the best in the game and can cover a total of 24 tiles and require a Farming Level of 9.

You will need:

  • 1 Gold Bar
  • 1 Iridium Bar
  • 1 Battery Pack – made from a lightning rod, five bat wings, an iron bar, and refined quartz.

You can also choose to buy an Iridium Sprinkler for your farm from Krobus’ Shop. While this is an easier process, it’s not cheaper, and Krobus sells it for 10,000 gold.
