One of the best ways to get a steady flow of money in Stardew Valley is by farming truffles and selling truffle oil. If you are looking to produce truffle oil and don’t know where to start, here is a quick guide to help you get started.

Farming Truffles in Stardew Valley

Truffles are easy to get if you have access to pigs. Just like how chickens produce eggs, pigs are capable of digging up truffles for you. All you need to do is build a barn and upgrade it to a deluxe barn, and you will be all set to farm truffles.

The quality and number of truffles you get from your pigs depend on their happiness. Even if you max out a pig’s happiness levels, you will get a maximum of three truffles per day. If you have access to the Artisan profession, your income will be boosted significantly because truffle oil is considered an artisanal item.

How to Use Truffles in Stardew Valley

The best way to use truffles is to make truffle oil and sell it off. You need access to an oil maker to make truffle oil and if you don’t have one, simply raise your farming level to 8.

Once you are farming level 8, you need to gather the following items to craft an oil maker:

  • 50 Slime
  • 20 Hardwood
  • 1 Gold Bar

Place your oil makers wherever you want on your farm and you can just walk up to them with truffles to process them into truffle oil. Unlike a lot of other items in Stardew Valley, you do not get instant benefits when farming truffle oil. The process of setting up a farm, getting truffles, and processing them into oil can take a long time. But once you get the hang of it, you will get a steady income with minimal effort.
