Marrying NPCs is one of the many things your character can do in Stardew Valley. After setting up a farm and settling into Pelican Town, you can choose any NPC to build a friendship with and eventually marry and move in with. 

Maru is one of the most intelligent characters in Pelican Town and enjoys making innovative inventions. She is also one of the easier characters to win over.

How to Marry Maru in Stardew Valley

Maru lives in Pelican Town with her parents Robin, Demetrius, and brother Sebastian. There are multiple opportunities to win heart points. She works as a Nurse and doesn’t go out much, so you’ll have to pay attention to her daily schedule in order to find her. 

Maru gets done with work on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:45 pm and can be found walking back home.

Like other characters, Maru has gifts that she loves, likes, and hates.

Gifts Maru Hates (-40 Points and make Maru upset)

  • Pickles
  • Snow Yams
  • Truffles

Special Encounters

Here are all the cutscenes you can trigger with Maru and the rewards it’ll give you: 

  • 2 Hearts: Visit Maru in her house and talk to her and Demetrius.
  • 4 Hearts: Visit Maru in the clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays when she is working.
  • 6 Hearts: Visit Maru in the morning to see her invention. You can also go to a mountain on a clear night to look through Maru’s telescope.
  • 8 Hearts: Visit Maru at night time.
  • 10 Hearts: Visit Maru when she is alone at her house.

Following all these encounters will complete 10 Hearts with Maru. There are many dialogue options with Maru in Stardew Valley, and the options have a significant impact on the friendship points. Choosing the wrong response can cause Maru to get offended and the interaction deducts points. Remember to be honest and optimistic in conversations with Maru.
