Since the New York Times took over Wordle from creator Josh Wardle at the end of January 2022, it’s still as popular as ever, though people are struggling with it more. The newspaper company has changed the catalogue of words available in Wordle, and – apparently – more people than ever are cheating thanks to the more unusual words.

Today’s Wordle answer for March 15, 2022, is… TEASE. We got it in three this morning, due to a relatively lucky couple of first guesses, but we’ve seen some get today’s Wordle in two. It really does all come down to that first word.

Tease meaning

Tease is probably a word with which most people playing Wordle will be familiar. There are a few meanings for this five-letter word, the most common use being as a verb — to laugh at someone or be unkind to them. But don’t worry, we certainly won’t tease you if you didn’t get today’s word.

Some people may also be familiar with the word tease as a verb describing the action of backcombing one’s hair, brushing it in the opposite direction – towards the root – in order to get voluminous looking locks.

Another use for the word tease is as a noun. This can either be used to describe a person who teases others or is cruel and unkind in this way, or someone who suggests sexual attraction without the intention to act upon it.
