Tower of Fantasy release date – Could we see the new Anime MMORPG before 2022?
Thanks to a change on the Chinese App store, there is a hint that we could get Tower of Fantasy before the end of 2021

Tower of Fantasy could see a release date of late 2021. But what is Tower of Fantasy, the upcoming, Genshin Impact-style Anime MMORPG?
Tower of Fantasy 2021 Release Date
Having already had two Betas in China, and the most recent being back in April, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that Tower of Fantasy is close to being release ready. By all accounts, it was originally slated for release in September 2021, but decided not to try and compete with Genshin Impact’s first anniversary, due to the already obvious similarities between the two. So surely it can’t be far off?
Well, a screenshot from the Chinese App store has hinted that the app could be released on November 24th 2021, as the release date was changed on its page from a September date to that in November. This does mean, however, even if this proves to be true and doesn’t get delayed again, that this could just be the Chinese release. A global release is still likely to be further away.
Tower of Fantasy gameplay
Tower of Fantasy has drawn many similarities to popular open-world RPG Genshin Impact, mostly because of how it looks and it’s stunning locations. However, many Genshin Impact fans were expecting much better multiplayer functionality in Genshin Impact, which they’ve been disappointed by. This is where Tower of Fantasy could step in and fill the gap. With a clear MMO angle, Tower of Fantasy could have the potential to be even more successful than Genshin Impact before it, if done right.
There is still very little information about Tower of Fantasy so far, and Chinese developer Hotta Studio have already made massive changes since the Betas earlier this year. As such, any information we have at the moment could change between now and any eventual global release. We just hope Tower of Fantasy is going to be as great as it shows the potential to be!
