The latest update to Call of Duty will bring many new features that aim to give players an easier time when dealing with issues beyond their control. These features include updates to the game’s Ranked Play mode, which introduces more leniency for certain suspensions.

New forgiveness for Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 Ranked Play

First, here’s a list of things that have changed, and we’ll explain what each means below.

  • SR Forgiveness
  • Demotion Protection
  • Squad Backout and Match Cancelling
  • Suspensions

Keep in mind that these changes to Ranked won’t take effect until the new Reloaded update comes.

What is SR Forgiveness?

The first major change to the Ranked Play mode is the introduction of SR Forgiveness. This feature aims to reduce the frustration of losing a match due to a teammate disconnecting or quitting in the middle of the game. Under the new system, players will not lose any SR if a teammate outside their party disconnects or quits.

This means that you can still earn SR if you win the match without the other player, but losing while shorthanded won’t deduct any SR.

What is Demotio Protection?

Another change to the Ranked Play mode is the introduction of Demotion Protection. The purpose of this feature is to prevent players from being relegated to the Skill Division immediately after advancing there. Under the new system, players will not lose any SR within the first three games in the new Division.

Following that initial protection, if players do lose enough SR to risk relegation, players must lose two consecutive matches to be demoted out of their Skill Division. Demotion Protection also applies to the first three matches of every season.

What is Squad Backout and Match Canceling?

In addition to these new features in Call of Duty, the new update also introduces Squad Backout and Match Cancellation. This feature allows players to back out of a match if their squad is not full before it starts.

If a player disconnects or quits before a match begins, all remaining players will return to the lobby and the match will not count. This helps keep teams evenly matched before a game starts.

How are suspensions less likely to happen with the Season 3 Reloaded Update?

There will be less severe penalties and suspensions for players who quit, disconnect, sit idle, or commit friendly fire too often.

The system used to evaluate repeated bad behavior has been changed to avoid harsh punishments for players who consistently play the game the right way. This also forgives those who change their ways after being penalized or suspended more consistently.

This way, it’s focused on making sure players learn from their mistakes instead of just punishing them for it.
