Valorant developers, Riot Games, have announced a new game mode called ‘Premier’, which hopes to bring casual players a professional experience.
As is the case with many online shooters, professional teams are in abundance, so much like League of Legends incorporating their ‘Clash’ mode, casual players can enjoy a competitive team-based experience too.
Let’s take a look at the status of Valorant’s Premier mode, and the announcement made for the open beta, along with other details.
Valorant Premier open beta release date prediction
Valorant Premier has been officially announced to release as a beta alongside Episode 6 Act 3. Valorant Acts usually run for about three months and the second Act of the Episode is slated to begin on March 6. That means we could be expecting a release date for early to mid May.
This will involve players gathering a team of five people that they are confident in playing with, and they will play games against other teams to determine the best players at each skill rating.

Valorant Premier announcement
Premier was initially revealed back in October 2022. The goal of the mode, which bridges competitive play with pro, was to “present an even higher goal beyond Radiant that provides the most competition-hungry players with a rewarding challenge beyond ranked.”
However, in an announcement video on March 2nd 2023, Andy Ho, Valorant’s game director, gave an update on the team-based competitive mode and what to expect moving forward.
It looks like there will be regular season games, which will lead to a bracket stage for teams that win enough of the regular season games.
Valorant Premier open beta
The Valorant Premier mode will be released in a global open beta for every player come the beginning of Episode 6 Act 3.
It seems Riot is hoping to use Premier as a way to channel into the professional scene, as they noted this game mode will be the new way to qualify for VCT Challengers. There will no longer be open qualifier events anymore. Premier will be the way to professional Valorant for every player.
