Diablo IV is backed to the brim with monsters, weapons, blood, and new classes for fans to enjoy. Blizzard has brought the series back with a bang, and it’s fully multiplayer capable, with co-op, couch co-op, cross play, and online play. That means you’re definitely going to want to team up with friends and form parties. If you need to know what Diablo IV’s party size is, look no further.

How many can be in a party in Diablo 4?

Diablo IV allows players to form parties of up to four players for the maximum party size. If you have three friends, great! Team up to defeat the demons that roam the open world of Sanctuary together. However, even if you don’t have friends (or at least no friends who play Diablo) you can still party up with strangers met through the game.

If you have more friends, though, you won’t have any room to fit them, as the max party size is set at four. There’s two different co-op systems in Diablo, though:

  • Parties
  • Clans

Clans will have a much higher limit of players who can join, so don’t worry if a party isn’t big enough. A clan will be able to fit all of your friends with a 150 player limit. If you have more friends than that, that’s the max amount of players that can join together, unfortunately.

Parties are great for earning bonus EXP for both yourself and party members while journeying across the open world of Sanctuary in pursuit of Lilith the Hateful, Mother of Sanctuary and daughter of Mephisto. You’ll get extra EXP just for being in a full party or with any number of party members. Any enemies you defeat, and any dungeons and quests you finish will add that bonus to the experience you’re already rewarded.

You’ll also be able to have your own in-game chat with a separate in-game party chat, which allows you to just address anyone part of your party. This is very useful in the Fields of Hatred, as this is the PvP section of the game and it’s best to communicate with your allies without other players able to see what you’re saying.

We have a guide here if you need to learn how to form an in-game party, and also it will tell you how to get out of a party if you’ve decided your journey should continue solo. You’ll be the party leader if you sent out the invites, so be aware that you’ll be in charge of that. There’s no penalty for playing the game on your own, but let’s face it, bonus EXP is a pretty good deal for playing with friends.
