Using headphones is a great way to ensure you know just where the enemy is as they better allow you to hear their footsteps. Knowing all about audio such as Loudness Equalization in Modern Warfare 2 is just as good as knowing how to play the game. If you want to hear enemies more clearly, here’s what you need to know about Loudness Equalization.

What does Loudness Equalization do in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?

Loudness Equalization allows players to hear what’s going on around them better. This includes noises around their location such as enemy footsteps, gun fire, grenade pins being pulled, disarming bombs, among other various things you can do in Modern Warfare 2. Basically, everything your character does that makes noise will be boosted if you activate Loudness Equalization in settings.

How to change Loudness Equalization in MW2

Loudness Equalization is only available for the PC version of Modern Warfare 2. To turn Loudness Equalization on, follow the instructions:

  1. Find the sound icon on the bottom right of your PC’s Taskbar.
  2. Right-click the icon and then select Sounds.
  3. A new window will appear. Click More sound settings.
  4. Another new window will appear. Go to your primary sound source and double left-click it.
  5. Choose Properties.
  6. Bring up the Enhancements tab
  7. Select Loudness Equalization and click it to place a checkmark by it.

Once the checkmark is there, Loudness Equalization is activated. You may need to restart Modern Warfare 2 for it to take effect. You should notice a difference in sound quality with it being turned on. All in-game noises will now be louder, allowing you to hear everything much better.
