There are plenty of ways that you can increase your power in Diablo 4. You can obtain jewelry, armor, weapons, and more. You can delve into dungeons to collect powerful gear to take with you and increase your offensive capabilities.
There is one category of upgrade that is overlooked in the beginning of the game. That is because you need to unlock an occultist NPC first. The method of upgrade we are referring to is imprinting aspects on the Codex of Power. So what is the Codex of Power in Diablo 4?
Diablo 4 – What is the Codex of Power?
The Codex of Power in Diablo 4 is something that you have access to at the start of the game but you cannot use it. It shows you all of the Legendary Aspects you have collected throughout the dungeons. To view the Codex, you simply need to press the Y key or navigate to the Codex through the collections menu.
You can also view the Codex by speaking to any of the Occultist NPCs in any of the towns. Legendary Aspects you have collected can be imprinted onto rare and legendary items. Note that other resources and items cannot be imprinted upon.
Rare items that are imprinted upon get upgraded to the status of legendary quality items. Meanwhile, a legendary item will have its ability replaced with the ability from the Legendary Aspect.
All Legendary Aspects within the Codex of Power are shared account-wide. This means that if you have an aspect that increases your utility or mobility, you will have it across all of your characters. Remember, Aspects found within your inventory are bound to the character. Once they are in the Codex is when they become account-wide.
You would do well to learn the Codex of Power and utilize it.
