Those of you who have been waiting with bated breath (of the wild) as we have will be wondering who exactly will be the main antagonist in this newest addition to the Zelda franchise. After facing off against Calamity Ganon in Breath of the Wild we are sure you won’t be too surprised with the answer for the villain in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Villain
After a recent announcement from Nintendo themselves, we have been blessed with the terrifying knowledge that you will be up against The Demon King himself, Ganondorf. Not only does he spend his time terrorizing us as a top-tier choice in Super Smash Bros, but he is now back and commanding us to bend the knee once again within Hyrule.
What we know about Ganondorf in the game so far
Not only has our Demon King had an art style and character design update teased by Nintendo, but he has also had a voice update! Taking on the mantle of this staple of the Zelda world is the chilling vocal tones from the Dungeon Master himself – Matthew Mercer. We won’t lie, with the extensive list of characters and games Mercer has lent his voice to, Ganondorf is one we are very excited to hear!
Are other enemies and villains expected?
Yes! There is a whole list of new enemies that have been teased through trailers for you to fight through The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on your way to take down Ganon! Some of these new enemies are nothing like any other creatures we have seen in the Zelda franchise before!
Other than the return of the Demon King and the ominous message he has left us with through Nintendo’s socials, we do not know much else about what he has planned for Hyrule, but the presence of Ganondorf alone is enough to have us gearing up and setting out to save the world.
