While traversing through Wonderlands in the newest spin-off game in the Borderlands franchise you can get many items and gear variations. Some are more powerful than others, but what is one of the most powerful Volatile gear in Wonderlands?
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands like any other looter-shooter comes with item rarity. You have your usual tiers like:
- Uncommon (white gear)
- Common (green gear)
- Rare (blue gear)
- Epic (purple gear)
- Legendary (orange gear)
In the past, many games had some additional rarities like Pearlescent, Sapphire or even Rainbow. Borderlands 3 did not introduce any new rarities and came back to the 5 color system with above-mentioned gear tiers. However, they introduced what was called Anointment system. It allowed for some end game gear to be even more powerful.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands continues that tradition with much less powerful Enchantments but in addition it introduces another layer of gear scaling. Many items can be Chaotic, Volatile, and Primordial.

What are Volatile items in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands?
It is a type of gear that drops only from Chaos Level 20. You cannot obtain any Volatile weapon on a lower Chaos Level. It scales up to the current max Chaos Level of 35. You have 17.44% Drop Chance of Volatile gear at the max Chaos Level.
These weapons are your usual legendary, rare or epic items. The only difference is that the Volatile versions are a bit more powerful. Around 30-40% more powerful than the standard versions of the items. For example, a normal Ring has 15% Gun Damage bonus, and a Volatile Ring has 19.7% Gun Damage, so you can see the increase.
