Blizzard Entertainment has announced that World of Warcraft cross-faction instanced content is getting tested soon. The developer announced the news on Twitter, revealing that all forms of instanced content, including dungeons, raids, and competitive PvP are modes featured in the WoW cross faction feature.

In a blog post on the game’s website, Blizzard published quite a lot more information on the feature. One of the issues with the game is that the lore is the World of WARcraft, which has historically had the orcs and humans dislike each other. Year of animosity has always stopped the factions from uniting, and its reasons for lore prosperity and continuity is why the factions never unite as one. However, time and time again, the Horde and Alliance stand united against bigger threats, which is why they can add it in. But, for some, faction pride matters, and that is why World of Warcraft cross faction gameplay is an opt-in feature.

However, Blizzard believes there’s a chance that some players will find a race they’ve always wanted to play thanks to people wanting to play another race, without the fear of losing out access to a subsect of other players.

The developers aim to get World of Warcraft running in a subsequent 9.2.5 patch in terms of the release window. Once Eterntiry’s End goes live, a follow-up PTR will add the World of Warcraft cross faction feature for players to test. Note, to add someone on the opposite faction, you need to have them as battle.net or real ID friends. So, find yourself some cross faction communities and go from there. Alternatively, you can queue into members of the opposite faction using tools like dungeon and group finder, which allows access to M+ and arena content.

However, some content cross-faction groups cannot work in. These are Battle for Dazaralor, due to the faction swapping feature of the raid. Also, ICC is not accessible due to the gunship battles and the Trial of the Crusader.
