The World War Z movie may have disappointed a fair few people, but it turned out to make a pretty decent video game in the end. Since the original version of the game launched back in 2019, it has come out on various platforms, including the Nintendo Switch as recently as 2021. With so many different platform versions of the game available, it’s not unreasonable to want to know if the game supports crossplay. Luckily, it does, so you can enjoy the game with your friends regardless of whether they’re playing on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, or PC.

As with many modern games, this one supports crossplay. The feature is insanely popular these days, with so many online games flooding the market. On top of that, this game even included it by default as soon as the Nintendo Switch version got released in 2021, so even if you’re playing it handheld you’ll still be able to enjoy the game with your friends.

How to Play World War Z Cross Platform

When the game first launched, there was no actual way of inviting players from another platform into the game, which was annoying. These days, that has thankfully been rectified. When you launch a new game, you can check the top-right of the screen to be given an invite code. If you share that code with your friends, they can use that to join your game no matter what platforms you’re both using. Of course, if you’re okay playing with randoms, crossplay is enabled by default in that scenario.

Does World War Z Have Cross Save/ Cross Progression?

Unfortunately, while the game does over crossplay, it doesn’t currently support cross progression. If you want to play the game on a new platform, you’ll have to start all over again from the beginning, or just stick to your original platform.
