Best GPU for Ryzen 5 5600X
More budget orientated options don't mean you miss out on performance

The low-tier AMD CPU is a great pick for a budget gamer, especially with the power of Ryzen 5000 compared to Intel. So with that pick of processor, what is the best GPU for Ryzen 5 5600X?
The Ryzen 5600X came out as part of the initial Zen 3 Vermeer launch in November 2020. As the lower option in the last AM4 release, it came with a $299 MSRP. Which made it a great budget pick.
Built upon TSMC’s 7nm process, it fits in 4.15 billion transistors on a die size of 81mm². And it comes with 6 cores, and 12 threads, clocked at 3.7GHz capable of a boost up to 4.6 GHz. Whilst reaching a TDP of 65W. So there is plenty of potentials to fill out with a nicely paired GPU.

Does the 5600X need a GPU?
The 5600X is part of AMD’s Zen 3 lineup, then it does not have integrated video processing on it. As such you’re not going to get any video output from it and will require a dedicated graphics card to give you a monitor output.
The only CPUs that will have onboard graphics for AM4 are the CPUs with the G suffix. Although these are not meant for much more than basic video output. And if you’re still looking for a gaming experience they aren’t the best choice.

One of the most popular low-end picks for a graphics card is the RTX 3060 Ti. It is a lower-cost yet powerful card and quite popular. With stock and pricing now still not recovered from the shortage.
The card is capable of averaging above 60FPS at 1440p and even higher at 1080p. So it pairs up well with a low-end CPU as well.
It launched a bit after the initial 30 series launch in December 2020, with an MSRP of $399 but that price was rather uncommon. Whilst it features 8GB of GDR6 memory, with 4,863 CUDA cores, 38 RT cores, and a base clock of 1,410 MHz and a boost of 1,665 MHz. As well as a TDP of only 200W.

For a good pairing of an AMD CPU, an AMD GPU is a good idea. It allows for the use of smart access memory between your CPU and GPU. This will allow an extra boost to your performance.
The RX 6600 is a good pick as a budget option. As it offers great 1080p performance, although anything higher is pushing the limits unless you plan on using FSR and RSR to get more out of it where possible.
With an MSRP of $329, it is likely to be less now, over a year after its launch. It features 8GB of GDDR6 memory, with 1,792 shaders, and 28 RT cores. With a base clock of 1,626MHz and a game clock of 2,044MHz, with a potential boost clock of 2,491 MHz.

If you’re trying to push the ability of your CPU then there are bigger graphics cards to pick out from so you can get better framerates. Although pushing up that ability you’re likely to start reaching a bottleneck from the CPU.
This isn’t the worst place to be for your build. As such the RTX 3080 and RX 6800 XT are both great choices of gaming cards for their generation. Which are plenty capable of reaching higher performance.
The 3080 features 8,704 CUDA cores based on the Ampere architecture. Along with 10GB of GDDR6X memory, it achieves a bandwidth of 760.3 GB/s. With a TDP of 320W, you have a fast card with a fair bit of power needed for it.
Whilst the RX 6800 XT has 4,608 streaming processors in the RDNA 2 core. It is supported by 16GB of GDDR6 memory producing 512 GB/s of bandwidth. With a slightly lower 300W TDP it also has good strengths to support the CPU. And can benefit from SAM and the same ecosystem.
