The game that no one anticipated! The camp and strange 80s movie Killer Klowns From Outer Space gets a game adaptation. This game was announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live back in August of last year. Plan your own alien invasion and harvest humans as the iconic Killer Klowns, or gather a team of survivors to fight the extra-terrestrial threat, in a game based on the ‘80s cult classic movie. 

So what’s to know? Well, we know of the 5 classes of Klown you can play as, along game objective and map layout. Unfortunately, we only have the release year in 2024 so far, but we’re sure more information on that will follow.

Killer Klowns – 5 playable classes of Klown

Trapster

The Trapster is a trap-laying class designed to lock down humans and help other Klowns find them. His main weapon is the Jawbreaker Mace. The Trapster class a deployable Popcorn Mine, which will also tag any human that runs over it.

Tracker

 The Tracker class is able to use popcorn to highlight humans to the rest of the Klown team. Tracker has a Popcorn Bazooka for an explosive, long-range option, and the Balloon Dog that will point towards the nearest human. Plus, jump in his Invisible Car to pursue humans and drive around the outside areas of the map.

Scout

The Scout is designed to push beyond the frontlines and seek out enemies. He’s the only Klown who can use the Klown Jump to leap into previously unexplored territory, so he’s perfect for recon. Hypnotic Lure ability will draw humans towards him, or he can use Lackey Swap to surprise them with quick travel by swapping with an AI minion.

Fighter

As you might’ve guessed, Fighter is the combat class of the group. Boxing Gloves can be used to beat down humans, and the highest available agility of all the Klowns. The Pizza Box skill transforms him into a pizza box, a great stealth option. He’d also equipped with Speedy Tricycle to catch up to evading humans.

Tank

Tank is armed with an Extendable Jawbreaker that can be charged up for increased range and power. The Sticky Bash ability he’s able to lay down a carpet of Cotton Candy that traps you. Additionally, the Rage Rush skill allows him to charge into enemies and bash through obstacles.

When is KKFOS: The Game being released?

According to Steam, the game should bbe released at sometime in 2024. However, an official date cannot be given at this point in time.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space game objectives

Here’s what we know about hjow the action will pan out in the game so far.

• SEND IN THE KLOWNS: Become the Killer Klowns – work as a team of three to plan your alien invasion and hunt down the humans of Crescent Cove with the strange and colorful gadgets and weapons at your disposal.
• PROTECT HUMANITY: Resist the Klown forces as a team of seven humans – with their own classes, humans can explore the town for loot and weaponry to fend off the Klowns as they try to capture you. Survive and disrupt the invasion.
• WELCOME TO CRESCENT COVE: Humans and Klowns will battle it out in 3v7 asymmetrical action across a sprawling, randomly generated map boasting famous locations from the film and a multitude of tactical opportunities for both teams.
• EVOLVING HORROR: Killer Klowns evolves the online PvPvE horror formula in new ways. Experience a unique approach to hide-and-seek gameplay, with dynamic objectives, customization, and other systems allowing for multiple outcomes to any given match.”

Is The Day Before like DayZ?

In-game maps are inventive, but faithful recreations of iconic locations from the Killer Klowns from Outer Space movie. To set the scene, all the maps will take place around Crescent Cove, the same setting as the film. Taking a look at IGN’s side by side comparison of the film vs the game, it’s looking very faithful to the original media.

Locations and objectives are randomly generated for each match, keeping each session new and interesting for players.

All maps take on the form of an asymmetrical fun fair, with false turns and the anticipation of an alien Klown waiting just around the corner.
