Gamers all over the world have been dying of thirst, waiting to put graphics cards into new systems. We’ve even got brand-new components coming at us such as DDR5, new motherboards, and new processors. But, the GPU situation has ever remained the same as it has been since around the launch of the 30 series of GPUs. However, according to Board Channels forums, and as reported on WCCFTech, there indeed is credence to this rumor.

Is this the end of the GPU shortage?

The author of the post states that Nvidia is looking to strengthen the distribution of the first batch of RTX 3050 graphics cards, more than the number of cards they had available during the launch of the RTX 3060 and 3060Ti. The rumor further states a launch date of January 27 for the card itself.

This is heartening news, as AMD is prepared to say that the current shortage will last through 2022 and beyond. We don’t know if the supply of the RTX 3050 will remain ‘sufficient’ throughout the year, and it’s likely that national holidays such as the Chinese New Year will indeed impact the production of the cards immediately after launch, so it remains to be seen as to whether or not there will be enough 3050s to go around for everyone looking to put one in a new PC.

The RTX 3050 is due to go head to head with AMD’s 6500 XT and retails for slightly below what the 3050 offers. However, we’re a little bit worried about the RX 6500 XT itself, meaning that you will just have to wait for the launch day in order to see what is the most valuable for you and ensure that you get the most value for your money.
