Redbull gives you wings? Not this time. Biostar has for some reason slapped a pair of mechanical wings onto a perfectly good Biostar Z790 VALKYRIE. Or have they? We discuss the mystery of the Computex 2023 winged motherboard. A motherboard with wings? Has Biostar gone mad?

What is the Biostar winged motherboard?

We’ve never seen anything like it, it looks cool, maybe? But the impracticalities this would introduce are immense. Is it even a motherboard or is it a PC case?

There’s reason to believe that the wings we see are part of a PC case, this is because there is a nicely placed convenient perspex motherboard tray, with liquid cooking pipes leading through it. The wings are seated behind the glass, meaning that the wings are most likely part of some form of PC case.

However, after googling for longer than our attention span would allow, we couldn’t actually find anything on this elusive Computex 2023 treasure.

The winged motherboard is actually set piece

All jokes aside, this is either a PC case or a showpiece, there’s no way, on god’s green earth that Biostar slapped wings onto a motherboard for consumer use. It looks awesome, but it’ll build worse than a Couger Conquer 2.

It would be pointless to have to remove something just to get it inside your case. Mind you, if you’ve ever built in a high-end ASUS case in the last 3 years, you’ll know you have to take the whole thing apart just to get a normal motherboard into it.

You can see all the specifications of the Biostar Z790 VALKYRIE on its website, and oh look, no wings. Well, now we’re just annoyed we’ve been lied to. Now we know it’s not a thing, we have to have it.

We will make it our mission to find out what this is and how to obtain it.

Final Word

Whilst it would be nice for some people to own a winged motherboard or PC case, it’s looking like this is just a set piece for the Biostar display at Computex 2023.
