Acer had recently entered the custom graphics card market with the Acer Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770. But that entry into the lower end of the market with Intel Arc was just the beginning apparently. And Gamers Nexus goes through the details as Acer shows off its new prototypes for the RTX 4090 and a yet unreleased Radeon RX 7000 GPUs.

As GN suggests, Acer is looking to fill that gap left by EVGA finishing production of the Nvidia GPUs. Although it’s not limiting itself to just one GPU manufacturer, it certainly is moving up to some of the best GPUs around currently.

With the RTX 4090 and from the looks of it the AMD GPU as well, they are going to be much more thermally intensive than the Intel card. As such the new model features an all-in-one cooling solution. Whilst the possible RX 7900 XTX card is more basic with three fans and three slots, with two power connectors and the space for another.

RTX 4090 with integrated liquid cooling

Now a big feature of the RTX 4090 that Gamers Nexus gets a closer look at is the integrated liquid cooling. As an all-in-one cooling solution, it doesn’t require an external and bulky radiator as the previous models have shown off. Which makes it much easier to install and more compatible with other systems.

For the specifics, it has a 22.4cm wide radiator with two fans and pumps on each side. For the heat transfer, it utilizes a copper cold plate and covers both GPU and VRAM. Although the VRAM does contact thermal pads rather than direct. And that also extends to the VRMs further out on the side that thermal pad to the radiator.
