Alan Wake Remastered has been confirmed by the developer, following a recent leak. The leaks revealed not only the existence of the Alan Wake remaster, but a possible Alan Wake Remastered release date as well!

Read below for all the details we currently know.

Alan Wake Remastered Listing Spotted

Top Twitter gaming detective Wario64 came across listings on Rakuten for Alan Wake Remastered, scheduled to be released rather soon!

Whilst this was compelling we couldn’t say definitively that Alan Wake Remastered was definitely coming out until today (September 7, 2021) when Remedy Entertainment confirmed it.

Alan Wake Remastered Confirmed

In an open letter to The Sudden Stop, the Alan Wake community website, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment Sam Lake has officially confirmed the existence of Alan Wake Remastered, with news that it is ‘nearing its completion’.

Upon the details of the remaster, Sam had this to say:

“the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades.”

Alan Wake Remastered Xbox Exclusive?

The original release of Alan Wake was an Xbox exclusive in terms of console release (the game was also available on the PC), however, if these listings on Rakuten are to be believed then the Alan Wake Remaster will be playable on PS4 and PS5, as well as on Xbox One and Xbox Series X & S.

In their open letter, Sam Lake of Remedy Entertainment confirmed that the game would no longer be limited to Xbox and PC.

This marks a continuation of a recent trend from Remedy Entertainment, both the developers and publishers of the game, who broke from its Microsoft-only tradition with the release of Control on the PlayStation back in 2019.

No PC listings were found by Wario64 on Rakuten, but we can expect to see this version of the game at some point, even if it doesn’t come out as soon as on the consoles.

Alan Wake Remastered Release Date

According to the discovery by Wario64 the Alan Wake Remastered Release Date is October 5, 2021.

This is obviously not an official release date, but given the leak was correct about the existence of the game, there’s a good chance the date may be accurate as well.

The aforementioned open letter from Sam Lake stated that “Alan Wake Remastered will launch this fall” which technically give them up until the end of November 2021.

If the game is to be released around this time, we may see something more official come out on the game during the PlayStation Showcase on September 9, 2021.
