AMD Radeon RX 5500 & 5500XT Launch: Where to buy?

12th December 2019 Update: The embargo has been lifted, the AMD Radeon 5500 graphics cards have begun to appear across retailers to buy, let’s begin the shop!

AMD officially announced that they are launching a budget GPU aimed at the 1080p gaming market, the Radeon 5500 and Radeon 5500XT graphics cards. These GPUs are designed to directly compete with Nvidia’s 1650 series of GPUs and also include next-gen GDDR6 memory.

So far, we know that AMD will be releasing the 5500 GPUs in OEM prebuilt machines as well as laptops, such as the latest announcement from MSI the Alpha 15 gaming laptop. As for standalone GPU release dates, we’re unsure at this moment in time, AMD have been very stum on making any announcements in this area.
