If you’re in the market for an AMD CPU, then it might be worth considering the Ryzen 5 3600 as a viable option as it’s now available at the lowest price yet.
The processor is widely regarded as the perfect balance of performance and value. As suited to demanding gaming as general everyday tasks, the Ryzen 5 3600 has managed to cement a berth as the go-to chip for mid and even high-end gaming builds. In many ways, it exemplifies AMD’s efforts to offer competitively priced products without skimping on performance.
Here’s the official blurb from AMD:
”Say hello to your esports friend. Everyone deserves a powerful processor. Uncompromising features and smooth performance are finally the standard for every gamer and artist.”
Over on Amazon.com, the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 is now on sale for a price that should please even the thriftiest enthusiast builders out – $154.99. That’s $44.00 off the full list price – an all-time low. For a processor that released a little over a year ago and comes highly recommended from virtually anyone with a decent understanding of piecing together affordable, yet powerful gaming builds, that’s some serious savings.
For the money, you’ll get a Zen2 7nm CPU with six cores, 12 threads, 3.6 GHz base clock speed, 4.2 GHz boost clock speed, 35 MB GameCache, PCIe 4.0, support for up to 128 GB of dual-channel DDR4 3200 RAM, and a 65 W TDP. You’ll, of course, need an AM4 socket motherboard, and it’s worth noting that the Ryzen 5 3600 only supports PCIe 4.0 when paired with X570 motherboards.
The processor also ships fully unlocked and overlock-ready alongside AMD’s excellent Precision Boost Overdrive. The package also contains a high-performance AMD Wraith Stealth cooler to boot, saving you even more cash if you’re going in for a full build.
Whether the price cut is permanent or not is unclear, but we wouldn’t recommend sitting on this one and run the risk of missing out.
