Looking for the Ryzen 5 5500 release date? Or maybe the Ryzen 5 5500 price? Well, you came to the right place.
AMD is about to take the world by storm with the release of the 5800X3D, but before that AMD has three more tricks up its sleeve before they give up the AM4 platform for good.

Breaking news: Ryzen 5 5500 release time set for 2PM BST 4 April 2022.

The Ryzen 5 5500 is one of the three AMD CPUs launching in early April, and being the budget option of the three it comes in at a very respectable price. The performance of the CPU itself is yet to be seen and we won’t know until we get our hands on it, but here’s everything we do know surrounding the 5500 and where you can pick one up for yourself.

AMD Ryzen 5 5500 release date

The Ryzen 5 5500 will be released on April 4 2022.

5700X release date

AMD recently posted a specification page dedicated to the Ryzen 5 5500 on its website stating clearly the release date as of 04/04/2022.

AMD Ryzen 5 5500 price

The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 will retail at $159.

AMD Ryzen 5 5500 – where to buy?

We’ve done all the hard work for you in scoping out all the places you can buy a Ryzen 5 5500 across the globe.

Ryzen 5 5500 specifications

The specifications for the Ryzen 5 5500 are pretty solid, especially at this price point. The specifications for the 5500 are as follows:

  • Cores: 6
  • Threads: 12
  • Base clock speed: 3.6GHz
  • Max boost speed: 4.2GHz
  • L1 cache: 384KB
  • L2 cache: 3MB
  • L3 cache: 16MB
  • TDP: 65W
  • Socket: AM4

It’s going to be interesting to see just how well this CPU stacks up against the two it’s releasing alongside, and the CPUs that currently exist from AMD. $159 isn’t a lot to pay for a CPU in 2022, so will it live up to its price or be the next budget beast? Competing with the more expensive CPUs will be a challenge, but we’ve seen a lot more done with less.
