AMD to host a “meet the experts” event around AM5 technology! AMD started hosting a webinar named “Meet the experts” many years ago, where AMD appoints industry experts to discuss upcoming, or recently released technologies, in more detail than has previously been given.

This is a fantastic way for AMD to get involved with the community of users it has built over its many years as a technology manufacturer, and build relationships with brands and esports from other companies.

Now read: AM5, what we know.

We’re particularly interested in this session of “Meet the experts” as numerous employees from motherboard manufacturing giants will be discussing AM5. This new webinar will be named “The next frontier of Ryzen motherboards” and will be hosted on the 4th of August 2022.

There will be a total of five speakers this time around, from giants such as Gigabyte, Biostar, MSI, and ASUS.

Here’s the full list of speakers at August’s “Meet the experts” webinar.

  • Mike Yang, Sales Manager ASRock Europe BV, ASRock
  • Michiel Berkhout, EU Product Marketing, MSI
  • Anny Hsu, Sales Manager, BIOSTAR
  • Juan J. Guerrero, ASUS Product Marketing Manager, ASUS
  • Sofos Oikonomou, Motherboard Product Manager, GIGABYTE

For those of you that are interested, you can sign up here for AMD’s webinar. The webinar will be hosted at 5 PM BST, or 11 AM CST.

AMD AM5

But what is AM5 and why should you care? AM5 is the brand new socket type of AMD’s up-and-coming Zen 4 CPUs. AMD is moving from PGA to LGA this time around, Intel’s architecture of choice. The reason for this is that LGA offers stronger, superior connections between motherboard and CPU, and it makes the manufacturing of CPUs slightly cheaper for AMD.

We think that AM5 is going to be the best socket we have ever seen in terms of technology, AM4 held its ground for over 5 years and held it well.

AM5 has to fill those shoes but based on the state of things so far, and everything we know about the specifications of the AM5 standard. We know this is going to be big. Zen 4 is an extremely powerful new CPU generation we aren’t exactly sure how powerful, but we have seen projected performance improvements of up to 30% in some areas.

However, a good CPU is only as good as the socket it sits in. We hope you enjoyed our AMD to host a “meet the experts” event around AM5 technology article.
