Publisher Modus Games have shared some new gameplay footage for their upcoming action-adventure game Ary and the Secret of Seasons, showcasing a few different locations from the game, plus explaining how it plays.
It’s a charming looking game, with a painterly style. It’s blending platforming action, puzzle-solving, and melee combat for what looks like a fun adventure. The secret of seasons that the title alludes to is referring to the abilities that you’ll use throughout the game. You’ll gain abilities themed after each season, that you can use in combat, traversal, and interacting with puzzles.
Lead writer on the game, Genese Davis (The Holder’s Dominion, Omensight) narrates this footage, describing what players can expect from the game. They say:
“The clip joins the titular youth as she alters the seasons around her through magical spheres, conjuring clusters of icicles and pools of water to help reach new areas and clear tricky puzzles. Players will be able to experience the full potential of Ary’s incredible power and help restore her world’s balance when the game launches September 2020 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.”
The character designs are all visually appealing, and even if the game looks a little on the simple side, it still looks like it will be fun to play. Ary and the Secret of Seasons is currently set for a September 2020 release, although they haven’t pinned down an exact date yet. It’s already got a Steam page.
