The Republic of Gamers Phones from ASUS are fabulous no-nonsense gaming-oriented smartphones that are a powerhouse of features. They’re extremely powerful smartphones with a hefty price tags, and it looks like the company is ready to launch its next iteration. With the launch of the ROG Phone 7 around the corner, here’s what we know about it.

ASUS ROG Phone 7 release window prediction

ASUS has officially announced the Those Who Dare Event for the ROG Phone 7, which is set to take place on April 13th, 2023. The event will be held at 8 PM in Taipei (1 PM BST, 8 AM EST, and 5 AM PST).

April 13th, 2023 will be the launch date of the new devices, but in terms of when the ROG Phone 7 release date will be i.e. when they will be available to buy, this could be anywhere between April 13th – April 21st, if the previous ROG Phone 6 release is anything to go buy (which came out 8 days after the launch).

It is still unclear how many devices will be announced at this event. We do know that there will be a standard ROG Phone 7 and a ROG Phone 7 Pro, but it’s unclear when/if we can expect a ROG Phone 7D or 7D Ultimate like with the previous generation. Regions like Europe, North America, and India would likely see the arrival of the standard ROG Phone 7. India may not see the Pro variant, and the 7D Ultimate variant could be China-exclusive.

ASUS ROG Phone 7 specs – what we know

We have most of the specs of the upcoming ROG Phone 7; however, it won’t be long until ASUS reveals the rest of the technical specifications. In the meantime, here’s what we have.

According to Crazreview, the upcoming ASUS phone will have a 6.8in AMOLED Full HD+ display with at least 165 Hz refresh rate and a 6,000 mAh battery. The fast charging capacity could be around 65W.

The device would be a powerhouse with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 at the core. GSMArena has reported two ASUS devices on the Geekbench database, both using the Gen 2 chipset. The devices are likely ROG Phone 7 and the Pro variant. The listening also showed the devices will come with 16 GB RAM. The ASUS phone would probably have a base storage capacity of 256 GB, with a possibility of an 18 GB/512 GB variant on the table. The company could introduce LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 to keep up with other flagships.

ASUS ROG Phone 7 price info (prediction)

We don’t have any official confirmation yet regarding the asking price of the ROG Phone 7. However, we can look at the previous generation of ROG phones to figure out a ballpark figure.

Currently, the ROG Phone 6 series is available in the market, which includes 4 devices.

  • ROG Phone 6: $899/£899/€999 for a 12GB/256GB.
  • ROG Phone 6D: £799 in the UK, unavailable in most of Europe and the US.
  • ROG Phone 6 Pro: $1,299/£1,099
  • ROG Phone 6D Ultimate: £1,199/€1,399 (Not available in the US)

The older generations already cost a hefty premium, so we don’t expect ASUS to increase the price tag.
