Leaked marketing slides for the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D show it will offer 8% better gaming performance and 15% better multi-threaded performance than the 7800X3D.

AMD is set to launch its next-gen 9000 series X3D V-cached CPUs on November 7th, and everything hints toward the highly anticipated Ryzen 7 9800X3D being the flagship release. While we’ve already seen expectations of a massive base clock uplift over its predecessors, Videocardz has pulled some strings to provide more interesting details about the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. According to the publication’s sources, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be faster than the 7800X3D in multiple areas.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D said to yield better gaming and multi-threaded performance

According to leaked marketing slides from Videocard’z sources, the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is expected to deliver 8% higher gaming performance and a 15% boost in multi-threaded workloads compared to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. This is intriguing because the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is widely regarded as the best CPU for gamers, making the expected improvements of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D quite impressive.

In addition to the improved performance, the slides highlight several other enhancements, including next-generation 3D V-cache, 96MB L3 cache, and better thermal performance compared to the previous generation. The slides also indicate that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will feature higher clock speeds, reaching a maximum boost clock of up to 5.2 GHz.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be supported by all AM5 motherboards

AMD’s leaked marketing slides also confirm that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be supported by all AM5 motherboards. The slides include a list of compatible motherboards, such as the recently launched X870E/X870, last-gen X670E/B650E, and A620 boards with BIOS updates. Additionally, the CPU will support DDR5 memory speeds of 6000 MT/s, which can be overclocked up to 8800 MT/s, as previously seen.

The company has yet to confirm any potential price tags but recently leaked online listings suggest that the processor will cost $484. However, we’ll have to wait a few weeks before AMD lifts the curtain and confirms all these rumored leaks and details.
