Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone mode details leaked
Information about the mode has been released just hours before the official trailer drops

Some details about Battlefield 2042’s Hazard Zone have been leaked ahead of the official trailer release for the mode on Youtube on October 14th at 8am PST/11am EST/4pm BST.
Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone – What we already know

While we don’t technically “know” anything yet, some information has been leaked about the potential gameplay of the new Hazard Zone mode in Battlefield 2042.
Firstly, the main objective of Hazard Zone is supposedly not the killing of opponents. But, like most other FPS game modes which aren’t won on kills, you’ll still gain valuable loot by taking out enemy teams. And that could help you win.
Hazard Zone is actually an extraction-based mode, and teams apparently have to collect data drives, extracting at just two opportunities during the match. It is believed that only one team will be able to extract at each opportunity, as well. Therefore, only a total of two teams can extract at all, and presumably the winning team will be the one with the most data drives extracted.
Again in line with similar extraction-type game modes in other games, drives will likely also be guarded by enemy AI, and you’ll have to contend with the environment as storms can spawn around you. In conclusion, Hazard Zone will be a combination of PVP and PVE elements. For anyone that has played Scavengers, for example, Hazard Zone should be a fairly familiar concept.
