Although it suffered from a long GPU shortage and an expensive inventory, we bring you the best Amazon RTX 3080 GPU deals for September 2022. As the RTX 4000 series approaches, we get to see good discounts on the older generation of cards.

Now when looking for an RTX 3080 there are two varieties you can expect to see. You will either find the original 10GB VRAM card, or the 12GB variant that came out later. They both are on the Ampere architecture and with the GA102 chip but vary with a 200 and 220 model respectively.

These are made with Samsungs 8nm processor with 28.3 billion transistors. And it creates a die size of 628mm² in size. The same for both of the cards. Whilst it then varies in the rest of the specifications.

The original 3080 has 8,704 CUDA cores, with 272 TMUs, 96 ROPs, 68 SMs, and 68 RT cores. These clock in at 1,710 MHz boost and 1,440 MHz base clocks. Whilst the memory is 10GB of GDDR6X across a 320-bit bus clocked at 19 Gbps produces a bandwidth of 760.3 GB/s. And altogether comes at a TDP of 320W.

Whereas, the 12GB variant as you might expect comes with GDDR6X. Across a 384-bit bus it’s clocked at 19 Gbps it has a bandwidth of 912.4 GB/s. It also improves the core, with 8,960 CUDA cores, 280 TMUs, 96 ROPs, 70 SMs, and 70 RT cores. This also does increase the power consumption up to 750W.
