Game developer, Lilith Walther, has taken it upon herself to give Bloodborne a new look.

One that reimagines the 2015 horror action RPG and crunches it down to 256×448 to 640×480 pixels. Bloodborne cemented itself as a cult classic way back at its 2015 release, garnering all the love and attention from the gaming community. But more recently, it garnered the love of game developer, Lilith Walther, who – for the past year – has been working hard on turning Bloodborne into a PS1 demake.

Before we get into this new Bloodborne PS1 demake, you might first be wondering what is demake? Well if the name didn’t give it away, a demake takes modern games and crunches them down to look as though they were initially released in the 90s. While some people take old games, revamp them and modernise them, much like Black Mesa did to Half Life. Some people also love the old-school feel and look that PS1 games had. Some people even prefer certain genres in the old low poly version, especially horror fans. There are a few indie developers who create PS1-lookalike games as sometimes the lower poly and texture style can lead to a more immersive and scary game, Chasing Static and more. These demakes are usually only for PC, and that is the case for the Bloodborne PSX.

Bloodborne PSX – The Bloodborne Demake

The Bloodborne demake will feature the original game’s first area and will end after the game’s second boss fight, Father Gascoigne. But everything in between will still be there, including the anticipated fight against the Cleric Beast!

The game is now out, and you can get it here.
