Bungie have added a selection of Halo inspired weapons to Destiny 2. Due to licensing rights issues, many of the new Bungie anniversary guns are just nods to classic Bungie weapons rather than carbon copies of them. The most similar weapon to the originals is the new BXR-55 Battler in Destiny 2, which is basically just the Halo 2 Battle Rifle with a Halo Infinite style weapon coating on it.

So how do I get the BXR-55 Battler?

After the Bungie 30th Anniversary update, a free new six-player mode has been added called Dares of Eternity. In Dares of Eternity you’ll complete various challenges including an obstacle course as part of Xur’s new game show. With each challenge match completed, you’ll get treasure keys that can be exchanged for the anniversary weapons.

With keys in hand, head to Eternity, where you’ll find Xur’s new Treasure Hoard. Find the chest near the treasure room and use your key to unlock it. Each time you open the chest you’ll be guaranteed a Destiny 30th Anniversary crossover weapon. There is no limit on how many times you can open the gun chest.

Other Halo themed weapons added to the game include ones based on the Covenant Carbine, the Elite’s Plasma Sword and a handgun called the Forerunner, which is basically Halo’s infamously powerful UNSC Magnum Pistol. The Forerunner handgun is actually acquired through different means in an Exotic quest of its own, which we’ve written a full guide page for here
