Call of Duty was officially unveiled recently, with a teaser trailer showing us little more than the game title – Modern Warfare 2. The 2022 edition of the franchise is perfectly poised to be the highest-selling to date and it looks as though we might be getting a gameplay trailer in the not-so-distant future.
According to CoD insider Tom Henderson, several sources are suggesting that Modern Warfare 2 will be completely revealed by June.
Modern Warfare 2 gameplay is on the horizon
The sequel to Modern Warfare 2019 has the potential to be superb and buy the franchise a bit of credibility back. Whether this is true or not can begin to be cleared up and the start of June, if Tom Henderson’s latest report is on the money. June 2nd appears to be the date and seems to coincide with Summer Games Fest 2022, which is taking place on the 9th of June. A small teaser of gameplay in advance of a walkthrough would be the perfect way to build hype.
Tom’s source for the date was a tweet from @TheGhostOfHope, someone with previous when it comes to Call of Duty information.
The upcoming reveal is expected to show campaign gameplay only, with a more in-depth look when Summer Games Fest arrives. Tom stated that we are unlikely to see any multiplayer gameplay until August. We could see an in-game event with Warzone take place as we saw with the two previous Call of Duty titles but it is still unclear at this stage.
The gameplay reveal could give us a glimpse into Task Force 141, possibly showing well-liked characters, well-known weapons, possible locations, and maybe the odd easter egg too. The sooner we get some more information on MW2 and the next Warzone, the better.
