The path to Warzone 2 Season 2 is in sight, with the recent Call of Duty Warzone 2 patch notes going live yesterday.

The latest CoD update brings in multiplayer, DMZ, and BR changes, along with changes to the UI, and much more.

The devs had previously stated that Season 2 would be delayed but the recent quality-of-life changes should be a welcome update for many players.

Many players enjoyed the 2v2 gulag, however, there was a high volume of complaints, so the devs have gone and reversed that (sorry if you liked it).

Call of Duty Warzone 2 patch notes

Starting with the new gulag. As stated, 1v1 is back!

The deevs reverted to this for “better combat” but also included logistical changes to the entire experience.

If you win your 1v1 Gulag battle, you will now receive a larger cash reward. There will also be spawn cash as ground loot to encourage players to run around the arena more.

Global update for MW2 and Warzone 2

Devs continue to try and improve the crashing and stability of the game. They have also looked to improve audio for PC players.

Aside from that, there were major UI changes:

  • Improved navigation and organization of Camo menu
  • More polished Social tab, including improved channel swapping and player muting
  • New “My Bundles” screen
  • Quick equip items from Battlepass, My Bundles, and Store
  • Reticle previews in Store and Gunsmith
  • Improved clarity of attachment blocking logic in Gunsmith
  • And many more bug fixes
  • Instance speed of Recent Players in menu
  • Status refresh of Friends
  • Improved After Action Report with audio
  • Play Again feature in Battle Royale
  • Bug fixes for inconsistencies between:
    • Challengers
    • Battle Pass
    • Weapon progression

Devs also stated that weapon balances are going to take effect, however, we cannot see these until the upcoming Season 02 launch patch notes arrive.

MW2 multiplayer perk & weapon balancing

For season 2 devs updated the rate at which the bonus and the ultimate perks are earned (reduces bonus perk cost by 50% and ultimate by 25%). This adjustment will allow Players to get Ghost earlier in matches, which will better support Players looking to engage more aggressively.

Just like there is for Warzone 2, MW2 is going to see several weapon changes. Full details on weapon balancing will be available in the upcoming Season 02 launch Patch Notes.

The new update may not please everyone, it rarely does, but it always feels like we are moving forward with this game. The Call of Duty Warone 2 and MW2 patch notes above are just the tip of the iceberg. To see the full list of changes coming, visit the CoD blog and take a glance.
