Hogwarts Legacy is finally here – with thousands of gamers around the currently exploring the Wizarding World. Just like with many games, there are numerous editions available.
With Hogwarts Legacy, there are three editions you’re able to choose from. These are:
- The Collectors Edition
- The Digital Deluxe Edition
- The Standard Edition
There’s also a brand new limited edition Hogwarts PS5 controller for those die-hard Harry Potter fans.
The Collectors edition is the top of the pile and features a ton of content and goodies, which we have detailed here. However, for most of us, it’s a choice between the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Standard Edition.
As expected there is a premium associated with the Deluxe edition as it contains more content. The biggest draw other than early access (which ends on February 10, 2023) is the Dark Arts Battle Arena, which is a wave-based survival arena that allows you to grind out XP quickly, not to mention master combat.
The Standard edition features the game, and – if you’re on PlayStation, the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest. There is no battle arena. Unsurprisingly, a lot of people may be looking to upgrade, but is it possible?
Can I upgrade Hogwarts Legacy to Deluxe Edition?
In short, there is no way of upgrading your Standard Edition of the game to the Deluxe Edition. The only way to get the Deluxe Edition to cancel your Standard Edition order and instead opt for the deluxe version.
This is a shame as other large games such as Modern Warfare 2 gave gamers an opportunity to upgrade to other editions after purchase. The move to not allow an upgrade has certainly angered some Harry Potter fans on Reddit. One gamer wrote:
The good news is that refunding games is very easy. For example, on Steam, you can typically expect money back into your account a matter of hours after submitting the request.
We advise not playing through the game using the Standard edition if you intend to refund, and instead opt to refund immediately to avoid any complications.
