The character design in Clash: Artifacts of Chaos looks like it was taken straight from a 90s comic book, with a constant visual effect that reinforces that feeling. There’s a crosshatching filter over everything happening in-game and it blends incredibly well with the garishly bright colors and weird design of all the characters and environments.

In terms of combat, most of your fights take place with an over-the-shoulder camera perspective, and the focus seems to be primarily on hand-to-hand combat. There’s also a ritual element to each battle, with the rules of combat being decided by a pre-battle board game where your powerful artifacts have an effect on the outcome.
