The Overwatch community are in mourning as the brilliant South Korean Overwatch League star Kim ‘Alarm’ Kyeong-Bo passes away. The 20 year old gamer suddenly passed away on November 7th.

OWL organization Philadelphia Fusion shared the news in a social media post on the 7th, stating: “We are devastated and heartbroken to hear about Kim ‘Alarm’ Kyeong-Bo’s passing, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as we mourn this tragic loss.”

Alarm competed at the highest level since 2016 in a variety of e-sports. He was a brilliant player and an MVP. In 2020, Alarm became part of the Philadelphia Fusion team, where he and the team accomplished 8 back-to-back finishes in the 2020 to 2021 playoffs.

Many fans have already taken to expressing their grief across social media.

“What a tragedy,” was said on Reddit. “Such a shame to see such a young lad with a promising future pass.”

“Struggling to process this,” another fan on Twitter added. “Alarm was truly one of the greats and this is such a bolt from the blue. I hope his family and friends find peace.”

We wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard added something in-game to commemorate the player. At the very least, it would certainly be a nice way to remember Alarm, by immortalising him in the game in some way.
