The new Operation Riptide update has been unveiled in CS:GO, bringing with it new maps, missions and new ways to play. In order to get the most out of the new update, you’ll be able to purchase the Operation Riptide Pass for $14.99. Though you don’t need the pass to play CS:GO, you’ll only be able to earn stars and reap the following rewards if you have it.
CS:GO Operation Riptide – New Items
You can choose to spend your stars anyway you wish. From stickers and patches to weapon designs and Agents, you’ll be able to choose exactly what you spend your stars on and in what order.
Operation Riptide Upgradable Mission Coin
As soon as you purchase the Operation Riptide pass, you’ll be given the Operation Riptide Mission Coin. Completing missions, and thus earning stars, will allow you to upgrade the Coin from Bronze right up to Diamond level to show off your progress to friends and enemies alike.
Operation Riptide Weapon Case
Available to purchase with coins, the Riptide Case will give you access to 17 new, community-created weapon designs, including the truly awesome Snack Attack by Sparkwire and 2Minds.
Operation Riptide Surf Shop Sticker Collection
If stickers are your preferred method of customization, the Surf Shop Collection takes a nostalgic turn, giving old-school surf vibes with an array of brightly colored beach designs.
CS:GO Operation Riptide – New Agents
There are also new Agents if you earn enough coins. Different levels of achievability means you can get your hands on some new Agents fairly early game, or keep grinding for stars for the rarer options.
Skipper Frank ‘Wet Sox’ Baroud is just one of the SEAL Frogmen available in the Master Agent pack, as they take on members of the French Gendarmerie. Guerilla Warfare Terrorists also join the fray with the likes of Elite Trapper Solmon available with the Superior Agents.
CS:GO Operation Riptide Pass
You can carry out Operation Riptide missions without the Riptide Pass, and you just won’t earn the stars, so if you like added challenge or structure to your CS:GO gameplay, check them out anyway. If you decide to purchase the Riptide Pass later in the operation, you’ll be credited for any missions you have already completed.
