The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account has announced that if you purchase the game on the Xbox One console and later decide to buy the Xbox Series X, you won’t need to buy the game twice. You will automatically get a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version if you already own the game.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account said: “Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades.”
No Need To Delay Purchasing Cyberpunk 2077
Xbox Series X is due to be released during the holiday season in 2020, but Cyberpunk 2077 is due to be released on September 17th, 2020.
This looks like a smart move from CD Projekt Red, the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077, who are probably worried that gamers will be put off purchasing the game until they can upgrade their console.
This could potentially lead to poor sales figures when the game is released, which no one wants to see for one of the most anticipated games of the year.
Promising gamers that their new Cyberpunk 2077 game will be available to play on another console at no extra cost will be comforting for a lot of people who can’t wait to play it.
What About PlayStation?
With all the hype that this will generate for Xbox, as well as for Cyberpunk 2077, of course, it’s got people wondering whether the same will go for PlayStation.
PlayStation fans might be wondering whether they’ll also get an upgrade when the PlayStation 5 comes out. Unfortunately, there has been no confirmation as of yet. However, we imagine that PlayStation will want to offer something similar to compete with Xbox.
